Cup Game #2 Verses Bays

Sunshine poked its head out through wispy clouds. The turf was dry and the air was warm.

Danny did not need to worry about substitutions today because Tom and Steve were unable to be at the game, Mohin has a flu bug and RJ remained on the injured (but improving) list.

David did a great job as sweeper, rarely letting the ball past the last man.
Evan was repeatedly a wall against which the opposition frequently lost possession.
Kevin was his consistently solid, fast and fancy footwork self.
Ryan E provided strong coverage in the midfield.

The Bays keeper had an outstanding game thwarting many of the beautiful crosses and shots by Jordy, Russel, Clayton, Quinn, Ryan L and TJ. It also appears that perhaps one or two of the shots may have been a little wide or high for the size of the net.

6 min. Corner kick #2 by Russel resulting in rapid and random kicks in and around their 5.5 meter box until Ryan E. does a long stretch of the leg to reach the ball and pops it in the net for Gorge Goal #1

31 min. Bays has a corner kick, but Gorge sends the ball up the field to Russel (I think) who races up the field and passes up to Jordy who carries it the rest of the way to the Bays net but sends it wide.

2 minutes into 2nd half. Corner kick #6 Quinn
13 min. Corner kick #7 Clayton. It gets redirected to Quinn who Rings one off the crossbar.
19 min. Quinn feeds a nice pass off to Russel who sends a great shot into the net for Gorge’s 2nd goal of the day
25 min. Corner kick #8 Russel
31 min. Corner kick #9 Ryan L
37 min. Gorge is seriously testing the Bays keeper when a rebounded ball gets into Ryan L’s sights and he blasts it home for Gorge’s 3rd goal of the game.
40 min. Corner kick #10 Russel
41 min. Game Over

Gorge ends the game with Mateus adding another shut out to his name and a 3 – 0 score.
