Gorge FC 8 - 0 Tewkesbury

It has been our teams pleasure to be able to host this match and billet the players of the Tewkesbury school during this leg of their Canadian tour. Friendly, fun, respectful and good sportsmanship was exemplified in their manner and play both on and off the pitch.

Captains gift exchange prior to kick off.

Tino, Phil and Adam. Talk about bench strength.

The Tewkesbury team gave a good account of themselves (despite the score) as they were up against a team comprised of older and bigger players. Josh (one of Clayton's billets) said when he went to try and tackle Big Ryan, that he "bounced off of him".

The opening half saw Gorge FC take a while to get into the flow. When they did, the goals came in quick succession. The half time whistle had Gorge up 5-0.

The occasional foray into the Gorge FC zone was quickly nullifed.

Anybody know where the ball is??

Good height Quinn!

Good defensive work, allowed only a few shots on goal by Tewkesbury in the second half. One by Josh hit the crossbar.

The second half onslaught continued with 3 more goals to round out the final score.

All the boys on both teams enjoyed a match that was well played under beautiful sunny skies.
